I'm Jesse Gamar, an unscripted editor passionate about shaping narratives to resonate with audiences. My work spans documentary series, features, and news-driven projects, with credits that include David Blaine: Do Not Attempt (NatGeo/Disney+), Vow of Silence: The Assassination of Annie Mae (Hulu), Axios on HBO and Back to Broadway (Tribeca Film Festival).
With a strong foundation in archival-heavy storytelling and vérité-style filmmaking, I’ve collaborated with Emmy and Oscar-winning filmmakers to craft dynamic and impactful stories. As the Lead Assistant Editor on Axios on HBO, I managed a fast-paced post-production team, navigating tight turnarounds and high-stakes deadlines for an Emmy-winning series.
Beyond long-form documentaries, I have experience cutting sizzles for development, editing music videos, and working with VFX. Whether it's uncovering lost history, breaking down current events, or bringing a visionary project to life, I thrive on the challenge of finding the emotional core of a story.
Based in New York, I’m always looking for the next project that pushes creative boundaries. Let’s collaborate.
